Casablanca (ADV) – Egypt and Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has been selected in FIFA shortlist for best men’s player of the 2017-2018 season.
Mohamed Salah scored 46 goals for Liverpool FC and the Egyptian national team last season. Salah wrote history during his first season with Liverpool, becoming the Premier League’s all-time goalscorer with 32 goals scored, leading him to win the Premier League Golden Boot. On 22 April 2018, the Egyptian player was awarded the PFA Players’ Player of the Year. Liverpool’s striker also won the top prize for African Player of the Year. He helped his club reaching the Champions League final, before losing to Real Madrid football club.
Salah has been nominated along with five-time Ballon d’Or-winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as world cup winner Kylian Mpabbe.
The public vote for best men’s player of the year will close on 10 August. The winner will be announced on 24 September.
